obsidian-brainPublisher documentation and the executable package manifest were reviewed offline. The package was not executed or independently security-audited. Core operation is local and requires a VAULT_PATH but no API key; write tools can modify or delete files in that vault. The optional companion plugin and Ollama configuration are outside the core configuration described here.
Capabilities: Search and read Markdown notes in a local vault, Build and query a local semantic and knowledge-graph index, Create, edit, link, move, and delete local vault notes

Source ↗ · Checked 2026-09-20The publisher documents one local stdio process that works without Obsidian running, auto-indexes the configured vault on first boot, and incrementally re-indexes changes.
Source ↗ · Checked 2026-09-20The core local server explicitly requires no API key and no hosted endpoint; VAULT_PATH selects the local Markdown vault and is not a credential.
Source ↗ · Checked 2026-09-20The documented MCP client configuration launches npx with obsidian-brain@latest server and supplies VAULT_PATH in the local process environment.
