Existing package identity, repository, ecosystem, and unverified runtime state were explicitly reconciled to the pinned publisher README and pyproject manifest. The package, shared key, personal-key flow, API endpoints, and live cameras were not executed or independently security-audited.

Unattended configuration

The MCP client launches uvx vancam-mcp as a local stdio child process. The publisher documents no separate persistent local service, while each tool call reaches the Vancam spatial or image API.

Authentication and prerequisites

VANCAM_API_KEY is optional: leaving it blank uses a publisher-provided shared, rate-limited key, while a personal API key is supported for higher limits. No key value is retained in this review.

Connection configuration

Configure the MCP client with command uvx and argument vancam-mcp. The server connects to documented Vancam search and live-image HTTPS endpoints and can receive an optional VANCAM_API_KEY environment variable.
