Connect your agent

swsd-mcp

Requires a user-generated SolarWinds Service Desk administrator JWT and grants capabilities according to that token. The native taxonomy has no dedicated bearer-JWT class, so authentication is recorded as unknown with an explicit explanation rather than mislabeled as OAuth. Publisher documentation was reviewed; the package and service were not executed or independently security-audited.

Capabilities: Read and manage service desk incidents, tasks, problems, changes, and releases, Query assets, configuration items, procurement, risks, and audit records, Search and manage knowledge-base and service-catalog records, Use configurable profiles and write restrictions

Unattended configuration

The MCP client spawns the local stdio server on demand through npx; a separately documented HTTP deployment mode is outside this existing connection review.

Authentication and prerequisites

A SolarWinds Service Desk administrator JWT is generated in the service UI, supplied as SWSD_TOKEN, and forwarded per request; the server says it does not persist or log tokens.

Connection configuration

MCP clients run npx -y swsd-mcp over stdio with SWSD_TOKEN and the tenant API base URL supplied as environment variables.
